I let you run...
to the roughened fields where daisies grow,
to where the river is shallow.
For I want you to live.
I let you seek the man behind the shadow,
and make peace with your own truth.
for i want you to be free.
I let you speak,
of love and hate.
I let you preach,
of courage and cowardice.
each word, heals then it pierces.
I listen again and again;
for I believe.
I let you wear your mask of life,
without a question,
without a doubt.
for I myself wear a cloak.
I let you in,
without asking your name.
a man behind the shadow,
the one I fear.
